Grocery Day

Ok, so Tuesday is my day off, so I usually do my grocery shopping on this day. It is also the last day of the sales before the new sales come into effect. I shop at WalMart, Dillons, and Price Chopper, in that order. I do the Grocery Game. They have a free trial if you want to try it out, just put my e-mail address(stephenandsteph@earthlink.net) in the referred by section if you don't mind, so that I can earn some free weeks! :)

Anyway, by using the Grocery Game, I almost always save over 50% on my grocery bill (this includes paper goods, toiletries, etc.) Today, I saved 47% at Dillons and 47% at Price Chopper. Dillons doubles coupons everyday, and PC does not double at all.

Burrito Pies

So, I had a Pampered Chef party for a friend of mine who just started selling Pampered Chef. I bought just a few things, as I don't have a ton of money to spend right now (when have I EVER?) lol but I did want one of everything. So, anyway, one of those things I bought was the Cut N Seal. I used to have one, I misplaced it... probably lost in the move. Soooo, I decided to come up with a recipe I could make for my 3 youngest boys tonight for dinner, because Stephen and I are having a date night! Anyway, we decided we are going to call them Buritto Pies:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

1 can of Grand's Biscuits (got these one SUPER sale with a doubled coupon, making them less than 50 cents a can!!)

1 can of refried beans (and a plastic container to put the leftover beans in, as you will not use them all for this many pies)

a little bit of shredded cheese

Cookie sheet, and Cut N Seal

Take 4 biscuits and put them on the cookie sheet(or a separate work area, whatever you want!)
Flatten them with your hand. Put 1-2 T of refried beans in the MIDDLE of the flattened biscuits. Sprinkle with a little shredded cheese. You want to keep this all in the middle, not touching the edges.

Flatten the other biscuits in your hands, and lay one on top of each bean/cheese covered biscuit. Using the Cut N Seal, put it over the whole shebang, and cut off the edges, you won't get much off, and if you want you can put this extra dough together and make a couple of breadsticks or something... I threw it away as I was short on time. Then press down on the "plunger" and it crimps the top and bottom biscuits together! Presto! :)

Bake for 15-20 minutes depending on your oven, and how brown you want the biscuits. Enjoy!

Makes 4 pies... not enough for my family AT ALL, so next time I will probably triple the recipe, because each person will want 1-2 pies, depending on the person!;)
